What Is a Paediatric First Aid Course?

The Paediatric First Aid (PFA) course is designed to develop the knowledge, practical skills and confidence needed to respond when a baby or child becomes ill or injured.

Unlike general workplace first aid training, paediatric first aid focuses specifically on emergencies involving infants and children, recognising that first aid techniques and considerations can differ depending on the casualty's age.

During the course, learners develop practical skills including paediatric CPR, casualty assessment and responding to injuries and medical emergencies affecting babies and children.

Training combines essential first aid knowledge with practical, hands-on activities, giving learners opportunities to practise the skills they may genuinely need to use.

At Elite Lifesaving Skills, we focus on helping learners understand why they're taking an action, how to perform it correctly and how to respond confidently when faced with an emergency.

The aim isn't simply to gain a certificate.

It's to prepare someone to respond when a baby or child genuinely needs help.
